What is Phishing?

Phishing is the processing of tricking unsuspecting victims into giving out personal information over the internet.  Phishing scams generally appear as fake e-mails or web sites representing a reputable company such as a bank or credit card company.  The Phishing site will ask a user to verify their information or tell them they need to create a new account.  Once a user enters information, the content is redirected to a third party.
